Description
Since 2005, the culture department of the municipality of Thalwil has been working successfully on the basis of the cultural mission statement and the culture promotion concept, which I developed together with Urs Amstutz, Irene Mahrer and Catherine Marrel from Thalwil, and Bruno Seger and Peter Stücheli from the ZHAW and numerous other contributors. After around ten years, the municipality of Thalwil wanted to evaluate, revise and realign the cultural mission statement adopted by the municipal council on October 1, 2003, and the cultural promotion concept from 2005.
In the first phase, the three-stage project includes an evaluation of the current mission statement and culture promotion concept, and exploratory talks with those responsible for cultural policy and culture administration. In a second phase, ideas and goals for the future of culture in Thalwil were discussed with those interested and involved in a World Café workshop. In a third phase, we created a revised cultural mission statement and cultural strategy for the next 10 years. This was adopted in the form of a catalog of measures by the municipal council in 2016 for implementation.
